MPM North West is to supply Dong Energy with lifting arms for davit cranes at the 90MW Barrow offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
Cumbria-based MPM will manufacture and deliver 60 new lifting arms for the offshore wind farm, with fabrication starting immediately and installation expected to take place at the beginning of June.
The cranes will be used to transport material to and from the offshore wind farm for maintenance work via crew transfer vessels.
The deal also includes three years of maintenance work for MPM North West.
Barrow offshore wind farm deputy operations manager Colin Nicol said: “MPM North West is based a short distance away, and it is important to us that local people and materials will contribute to improving the wind farm.”
The wind farm consists of 30 turbines and has been operational since 2006.
