Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has signed an agreement with the region of Jeollabuk-do in South Korea to attract companies to develop an up to 2400MW of offshore wind complex off the area’s coast.
Under the terms of the agreement, Doosan will produce turbines, provide maintenance and lead development of the complex.

The development will be divided into a 400MW pilot complex and a then a 2GW second stage, the company said.
The total cost of the project is 14 trillion won (€10.5bn), with completion scheduled for 2028, it added.
Doosan said it is committed to the 60MW scale demonstration project featuring 20 3MW turbines.
