Dutch high-voltage specialists Visser & Smit Hanab will provide array cable terminations and testing at ScottishPower Renewables’ 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm off the east coast of England.
The work covers terminations of the 66kV array cables in all 102 turbines, as well as the installation of a custom-designed cable management system and testing of the HV and fibre optic connections.
Vissser & Smit Hanab said it will deploy its own 66kV VLF/PD testing equipment for the job, which will start in the second quarter of 2019.
Vissser & Smit Hanab general manager offshore wind Arjan Paardekoper said: “Being committed to the global energy transition, we have been focusing on offshore wind development for a decade now.
“Our dedicated and skilled teams are looking forward to contributing to this major wind farm.”
