Van Oord has contracted high voltage specialists Visser & Smit Hanab to carry out terminations and testing on the array cables at the 383MW Fryslan offshore wind farm in the IJsselmeer lake in the Netherlands.
Visser & Smit Hanab will start the work shortly on the 33kV wires at the 89-turbine project.
The company said it is looking forward to continuing the cooperation with Van Oord.
Visser & Smit Hanab general manager offshore wind Gerard Lak said: “This will be our second project in a row with Van Oord and we are proud to have been selected based on the good cooperation between V&SH Offshore and Van Oord on the Borssele project.
“The termination and testing works of the array cables, fits perfectly within our field of expertise.
“As we’re currently finalizing the installation of the onshore export cable(s) for Windpark Fryslan as well.”
Fryslan will comprise 89 Siemens Gamesa 4.3MW turbines, which will be installed starting next spring.
