EEW Special Pipe Constructions (SPC) has manufactured what it claims is the heaviest monopile to date for Iberdrola’s 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm in Germany.
EEW said it has manufactured a 1,421 tonne monopile, eclipsing the previous record of 1,302.5 tonnes held by a monopile foundation built for Veja Mate at its Rostock site six years ago.

It rolled the 89-metre long, nine-metre diameter Baltic Eagle monopile on 17 July.
More than half of the 50 monopiles for Baltic Eagle have already been completed with production due to conclude by the end of November.
Installation of the monopiles off Germany’s Baltic coast is planned for spring 2023 with commissioning expected in 2024.
