MPI Offshore’s jack-up vessel Enterprise has installed the first foundation at WPD’s 111MW Nordergrunde offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The vessel is loading three sets of monopiles and transition pieces for the 18-turbine project, which is situated in the mouth of the river Weser, 15 km north-east off Wangerooge island.
Bilfinger is overseeing the installation of Ambau-built monopiles and Senvion 6.2M126 turbines in water depths of up to 10 metres.
Nordergrunde will be connected to the grid via a single line by TenneT.
Commissioning is planned for late 2016.
