WPD is diving into work on the water for its 111MW Nordergrunde offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
MPI jack-up vessel Enterprise is loading three sets of monopiles and transition pieces in Cuxhaven for the 18-turbine project, which is situated in the mouth of the river Weser.
German company Bilfinger is lead installation contractor of Ambau-built monopiles and Senvion 6.2M126 turbines in water depths of up to 10 metres.
NSW is supplying inter-array cabling.
Enterprise (pictured) was previously known as Victoria Mathias and has previously been deployed at RWE’s 295MW Nordsee Ost and Eon’s 302MW Amrumbank West wind farms, among other projects.
Nordergrunde will be connected to the grid via a single line connection by transmission operator Tennet. Commissioning is slated for late 2016.
