Granada Material Handling has secured a maintenance and servicing contract for davit cranes installed at the 353MW Galloper offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea.
The deal covers the 56 python cranes Granada supplied for the wind farm’s turbine foundations and a further two on the offshore substation.
Granada said it will ensure the cranes are serviced and maintained in accordance with “current legislation and Granada’s original equipment supplier requirements”.
The company’s technicians will be on site offshore for the service visits twice a year, it added.
Granada Material Handling director Mark Sidwell said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious UK wind farm service and maintenance project.
“Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada renewable product and service division.”
Galloper hit full power from its 56 Siemens Gamesa 6.3MW turbines in March.
The project is owned by Innogy, Siemens Financial Services, Sumitomo, ESB and a consortium managed by Green Investment Group and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets.
