Hexicon has secured €45m to part-finance the build of its 10MW Dounreay Tri floating offshore wind project off the north coast of Scotland.
The developer said the bond, issued on the Nordic bond market, has a tenor of three years with a fixed coupon of 10%.
It will be used to part-fund the build of the twin turbine floating platform that is to be commissioned next year.
The platform is to be built at Global Energy’s Nigg yard in Scotland. The yard will also tackle final assembly.
The columns for the turbine towers will be made by Keppel Shipyard in Singapore. A pair of CSIC Haizhuang 5MW machines will feature, as first revealed by subscriber-only reNEWS in November 2016.
Full financial close is expected shortly.
