J Murphy & Sons has started onshore cabling work in North Lincolnshire for Dong Energy’s 1.2GW Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm, which will be located off the UK east coast.
The cable route will run for 38km from the landfall site at Horseshoe Point to the onshore substation at North Killingholme.
The work is expected to be completed in November 2018.
J Murphy & Sons is operating from a construction base at the former Waltham airfield, near the village of Holton Le Clay.
The compound will be the project management base for the cable installation works and provide additional storage areas for construction material.
