LS Cable will supply 130km of submarine cable to the 378MW Formosa 2 offshore wind farm off the cost of Taiwan.
LS Cable signed a contract with Jan De Nul for the project, which is owned by Macquarie and Swancor Renewables.
Jan De Nul is engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractor for the foundations and offshore cabling for Formosa 2.
LS Cable also already signed two contracts for submarine cables in Taiwan, the first in January and the second in early July.
With this latest contract, their total value is worth KRW200bn (€151m).
Earlier this month Seajacks secured a conditional deal from Siemens Gamesa to transport and install turbines for Formosa 2.
The vessel operator will deploy jack-up Seajacks Scylla to install the 47 8MW turbines at the project in the summer of 2021.
Siemens Gamesa has secured the conditional order for the supply of turbines to Formosa 2 in June.
The German-Spanish manufacturer will deliver 8.0-167 machines for the project.
A 20-year full-service agreement is included in the deal to include the provision of spare parts and tools.
A firm order is subject to a final investment decision by the project partners.
Formosa 2 is located close to the Formosa 1 phase 2, which is currently under construction.
Fortune Electric is providing onshore electrical works for Formosa 2.
Formosa 2 has signed over 60 contracts with local partners, in addition to contracts with international contractors.
Formosa 2 will be one of the first projects completely built out of the Taiwanese government’s zonal development program.
This initiative was launched to promote a 5.5GW offshore wind build-out by 2025
