Danish company Maersk Training is developing a specialist programme in cooperation with the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre in Taiwan for the wind industry.
The new centre, which will come online in July 2020, will train wind turbine technicians.
A team from Maersk Training is overseeing the establishment of the centre, its equipping, manning and course scheduling.
Maersk Training will also ensure the programme has the relevant Global Wind Organisation accreditations.
Maersk Training chief executive Johan Uggla said: “This is a very exciting development for our business. Taiwan is one of the largest emerging offshore wind markets and we are pleased that MIRDC has chosen Maersk Training to help them deliver GWO Training into the region.”
