German renewables developer PNE has acquired compatriot company Argus, which provides aviation obstruction marking and control systems for wind turbines.
The deal, through PNE subsidiary MEB Safety Services, covers Argus personnel and material stocks.
PNE said new regulations mean that on-demand night-time marking will become mandatory from 1 July, 2020, for both existing and new wind turbines.
Argus also provides installation of third-party obstruction marking systems, as well as proprietary units.
The takeover will also allow MEB to install obstruction lighting systems on wind turbines in the Czech Republic.
PNE chief executive Markus Lesser (pictured) said: “This takeover represents a further step in the expansion of the range of services offered by the PNE Group for special systems in the field of wind energy.
“As part of our scale up strategy, we will be able to offer additional services in other areas of project development and operations in the future.”
