MingYang Smart Energy has secured a 375MW turbine order from PowerChina International Group for the Can Mau offshore wind farm in Vietnam.
The order includes the supply of 75 MySE 5.0-166 machines.
Ca Mau will be built in two stages, with the first batch of turbines to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
MingYang said the contract marks an important milestone in its market position in Vietnam.
The company said that as of 2020, MingYang’s global cumulative installations of 5.0MW-plus offshore wind turbines had reached 3.2GW.
It said that as the Vietnam wind market enters a new era with an updated pricing framework and the upcoming Power Development Plan VIII, MingYang will continue to collaborate with local developers and supply chain leaders.
The company will also expand its workforce of local experts and technicians, and provide professional training for them, all with the goal of contributing to the growth of Vietnam’s clean energy sector and economy.
