Spanish outfit Navantia has assembled the first jacket foundation for ScottishPower Renewables’ 714MW East Anglia 1 wind farm off the English coast.
Navantia, which is fabricating 42 jackets for the project, said the foundation should be ready in two weeks.
Navantia is assembling the jackets at its Fene shipyard in northwestern Spain from this year until late 2018.
The first Siemens 7MW turbines are set to be installed at East Anglia 1 in the summer of 2019.
