Lifting expert Palfinger Marine has entered the Asian offshore wind market, with the delivery of two cranes for the Formosa 1 project in Taiwan.
The company said the PF 8000 fixed boom units were delivered in May to Fortune Electric.
The cranes will be mounted on transition pieces in the building yard in Shanghai and then delivered to Taiwan, where they will be installed at phase one of Formosa some 5km off the Chunan coast in Miaoli County.
Phase one is a pilot project made up of two turbines with a total capacity of 8MW.
