Siemens has been roped to provide maintenance for the offshore substation and turbine foundations at the 402MW Veja Mate wind farm in the North Sea.
The German manufacturing giant said the five-year deal will begin once the project is commissioned next year.
A total of 67 Siemens 6MW turbines will be installed starting January. All XXL monopiles have been installed and the substation is also in place.
The new Siemens deal is for “scheduled maintenance and upkeep” of the substation (pictured), transition pieces and the foundation substructures.
“Siemens will be responsible for the entire offshore logistics, correcting faults on site and using EPCI contractor supplied spare parts and consumables during warranty,” it said.
The Veja Mate shareholders are Siemens Financial Services, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Highland Group Holdings.
