Work is well underway to install Siemens Gamesa’s 11MW prototype offshore wind turbine at the Osterild test centre in Denmark.
The tower section is in place and assembly of the 11.0-193 DD Flex unit’s nacelle is taking place.

Total tip height when the fully assembled will be over 230 metres, while the rotor diameter will be 193 metres delivering a swept area of 29,300 square metres.
The first commercially produced 11MW machines are to be installed at Vattenfall’s 1.52GW Hollandse Kust Zuid 1-4 offshore wind farm.
