Components for Siemens Gamesa’s 11MW prototype turbine have started arriving in Osterild, Denmark, for testing.
The nacelle of the SG 11.0-193 DD Flex has arrived in Osterild, while the three blades are expected to be transported from Hanstholm harbour to Osterild on 8 January, Siemens Gamesa confirmed to reNEWS.
The blades, produced in Aalborg, are 94 metres in length.
Installation of the 20 metre-long and 14.5 metre-high nacelle will commence later in the week.
Total tip height when assembled will be in excess of 230 metres, while the rotor diameter will be 193 metres and the swept area will be 29,300 square metres.
The first commercially produced SG 11.0-193 DD Flex turbines will be installed at Vattenfall’s 1.52GW Hollandse Kust Zuid 1-4 project.
