Sif Holding is to supply 70 “TP-less” monopile foundations for Van Oord for the 759MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm off the Dutch coast.
Sif’s scope comprises manufacturing of the monopiles and storage at the MV2 facility in Rotterdam in 2022- 2023.
The company will start the fabrication of the monopiles in 2022 at its two plants in The Netherlands, subject to receipt of a notice to proceed.
Van Oord is contracted by CrossWind – a joint venture of Shell and Eneco – to construct the wind farm.
Sif chief executive Fred van Beers said: “We are grateful for the confidence Van Oord and CrossWind have expressed in their award of this project to Sif.
“We will put every effort in place to support v Oord and Crosswind in turning the Hollandse Kust Noord project into a success.
“For Sif this valuable order, which was already included in our orderbook as a project under exclusive negotiation, is an important contributor to a stable order backlog till mid 2023.”
CrossWind chief executive Tjalling de Bruin said: “This is a major milestone, opening up the pathway to build Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm.
“We are very pleased to be working together with Van Oord and Sif, initiating the next steps of our commitment to deliver clean energy by 2023.”
Van Oord Offshore Wind managing director Arnoud Kuis said: “By contracting Sif we have selected a reliable and knowledgeable party.
