Dutch marine outfit SPT Offshore has secured a contract to install three suction pile jackets for turbines at an offshore wind farm in China.
Guangzhou Salvage Bureau has contracted the company for work on the first phase of China Three Gorges New Energy’s Yangxi Shaba project off the coast of Guangdong, 26km south of Shaba.
SPT said it will perform all related engineering preparations, such as suction installation procedures, pile penetration analysis and grouting consultation in water depths of 26 metres to 30 metres.
The company will use three of its latest SAPS-007 suction pumps units having 100% redundancy.
Work is scheduled from July to August this year.
SPT said additional health measures will be taken to prevent infections of the coronavirus.
