SPT Offshore has confirmed the successful installation of the first suction pile jacket for the Fujian Changle Waihai offshore wind project off the coast of China.
SPT Offshore’ SAPS007S suction spread and crew was used for the job by First Harbor Engineering Company.
It is the first of the 57 suction pile jackets for hosting 10MW wind turbines for Fujian Changle Waihai Area C which is being developed by Fujian Energy Group.
The offshore wind farm is located approximately 50km offshore of the capital of Fujian province, in the south-east of China.
It is the furthest and the deepest offshore wind farm in China in water depths of 37-45 metres.
Another 15 8MW turbine suction pile jackets will be installed this year for Changle Waihai Area A, which is being developed by China Three Gorges.
SPT Offshore cooperated closely with Chinese partner Yongfu Power Engineering for both the suction pile jacket design and suction installation services.
