SPT Offshore has secured a contract to install suction pile jacket foundations for over 500MW of offshore wind capacity in China.
The Dutch outfit signed a contract with Fujian Yongfu Power Engineering to cooperate on the Fujian Changle Waihai offshore wind project off the coast of China.
SPT Offshore is responsible for the design and installation of the suction pile jacket foundations for projects in the area.
The capacity of Changle Area A is 300MW and will host 40 turbines, 15 of which will be installed suction pile jacket foundations.
The capacity of Changle Area C is 496MW and will comprise 62 turbines, all of which will be installed on suction pile jacket foundations.
Changle Waihai will be the biggest offshore wind farm to apply suction pile foundations after completion.
The consulate of the Netherlands organised the “cloud signing ceremony”.
The Changle Waihai offshore wind project is located 31-50km from shore, east of Changle, Fuzhou city.
The average water depth is 37 45 metres.
