The substation foundation at Nobelwind’s 165MW Belwind 2 offshore wind farm has been successfully installed at the project site off the coast of Belgium.
The developer said the transition piece was completed on Monday ready for installation of the substation. Bladt Industries and Semco Maritime tackled fabrication of the structure.
Jan de Nul is the engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractor for Belwind 2.
The project will feature 50 V112 3.3MW MHI Vestas turbines, with commissioning scheduled for 2017.
