Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has officially announced the result of the first round of the country’s Phase 3 Zonal Development offshore wind auction.
A total of 3000MW of capacity was awarded across seven projects involving a total of eight developers.
The allocated wind farms are located in Miaoli, Taichung and off the coast of Changhua.
Two of the projects have commercial operations dates in 2026 – the 600MW Haiding 2 project, which is being developed by Corio, and Skyborn and Lealea Group’s 300MW Haixia offshore wind farm.
The other five projects are all due in 2027. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is developing the 500MW Fengmiao project, with the 500MW Canwind being headed by NPI.
In addition, the 495MW Formosa 4 is being developed by SRE, while EDF and Taiya have partnered to create the 440MW Huanyang wind farm, while Skyborn is also behind the 165MW Datian project.
