Tekmar Energy has been contracted by Seaway 7 to deliver cable protection to WPD’s 640MW Yunlin offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
The contract is for 150 of Tekmar’s cable protection systems, which protect the subsea power cables as they transition from the offshore structures into burial.
Tekmar Energy managing director Russell Edmondson said: “The contract award on the Yunlin project continues our relationship with Seaway 7 following successful completion on the Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland and our recent award on the Coastal Virginia offshore wind farm.”
Seaway 7 package manager Jonathan Linton said: “The success of the offshore industry relies on performance, innovation and collaboration to deliver successful projects.
“We are especially proud of the Yunlin project and looking forward to working with Tekmar Energy who are delivering a key part of this excellent project.”
Yunlin will feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines and is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2021.
Seaway 7 is the renewables and heavy lifting business unit of Subsea 7.
