UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has postponed a consent decision on RWE and SSE’s 1GW North Falls wind farm off east England.
A final determination on the Development Consent Order for the 57-turbine array had been due by later this month (28 January).
Energy Minister Martin McCluskey announced in parliament today (15 January) the deadline has now been reset to 28 April.
This is to allow sufficient time to request and consult on further information that was not provided during the examination period, he added.
It is the second wind farm consent decision to pushed back this month following Miliband’s decision on 7 January to reset the deadline for RWE and Masdar’s 3GW Dogger Bank South from 10 January to 30 April.
A spokesperson for RWE said: “North Falls will continue to work closely with the Planning Inspectorate, Secretary of State and other key stakeholders to submit the information requested ahead of the new decision deadline of 28 April 2026.”
