VSB has commissioned the Extertal wind farm (pictured) in the northeast of the Lippe District, where two Enercon E-138 turbines are now feeding power into the grid.
The company said the 8.4MW project was completed after about 14 months of construction and will generate enough electricity for around 15000 people.
It added that the municipality will receive a financial contribution of 0.2 euro cents per kilowatt hour under the Renewable Energy Sources Act.

Restoration of turbine sites and access routes will begin when weather allows ahead of an inauguration festival planned for spring 2026.
The project features an AI-based protection system using four cameras on each tower to detect agricultural activity and enable short-term shutdowns during mowing and harvesting to protect birds of prey.
VSB is also constructing the Arnsberg wind farm in the Hochsauerland District, which will feature three turbines totalling 18MW and is scheduled for commissioning in spring 2027.
