EDF and development partner Force 9 are exploring a potential 315MW onshore mega-wind farm near Elgin in northeast Scotland.
The partners will kick off exhibitions later this month for the Clash Gour project, for which scoping will soon kick off ahead of an eventual Section 36 application.
The project would be located to the southwest, north and east of Statkraft’s operational 67MW Berry Burn (pictured), which was originally developed by Force 9.
Clash Gour would under preliminary parameters feature 63 turbines of 5MW each. Tip heights would vary from 135 metres to 175 metres.
As currently drawn up the project would be one of Scotland’s largest single-phase wind farms.
