The first turbine has been erected at Vattenfall’s 54.4MW Ray wind farm in Northumberland.
The Senvion 3.4M104 turbine has a tip height of 125 metres. Another 15 wind turbines will be installed over the summer at the scheme on the Ray Estate near Kirkwhelpington.
Vattenfall’s construction manager for Ray said: “I am delighted to see the first turbine installed. This is a major milestone in the construction of Ray Wind Farm and is a testament to the hard work of the construction team.”
Glasgow civil engineer RJ McLeod is carrying out the balance of plant works at the 16-turbine site.
