Wind turbine installation and service company Global Wind Service (GWS) has opened an office in the Spanish capital of Madrid.
Daniel Coronel (pictured) has joined GWS to head up the new office. He has previously worked at Vestas.
GWS chief executive Michael Hoj Olsen said: “We have a clear ambition to keep growing and developing and for us, Spain is the natural next step.
“We have a strong focus on staying in close proximity to our clients and further strengthen our commercial presence in Spain.
“With Daniel at the helm I’m confident that the Spanish unit will play an im-portant role in our future journey.”
Coronel said a key priority is the recruitment of local Spanish technicians.
“We have some already, but with our local establishment we would like to increase that number, with more skilled colleagues,” he said.
Global Wind Service has worked on many different projects in Spain and installed more than 100 turbines for GE Renewable Energy alone.
