Gamesa has installed the last turbine at Avangrid Renewables’ 208MW Amazon US East wind farm in North Carolina.
The 104th rotor has been put into place in what will be the first wind farm to operate in the US state, the developer said. The first machine was erected in mid-July.
Amazon East, formerly known as Desert Wind, features Gamesa G114s with a 93m tower and 114m rotor diameter.
US general contractor Wanzek Construction has been tackling the construction of the project, which will supply electricity to Amazon’s cloud data centres.
Avangrid was formed last year from the merger of Iberdrola Renewables and UIL Holdings.
