Max Bogl Wind will showcase its hybrid tower concept for deployment in the US market at the AWEA Windpower 2019 conference in Houston, Texas this week.
The German company said the steel and concrete structures allow high hubs heights to be realised, increasing energy yield by 0.5% to 1% for every metre of height added.
Max Bogl Wind head of sales Christoph Bosch said: “We recognise the need for US project planners to increase the yield of wind turbines.
“The industry is preoccupied with the loss of subsidies and fluctuating steel prices. Our hybrid towers provide the appropriate response.”
The company added that its sees potential for the system in the US, particularly the north-east.
Max Bogl said its mobile fabrication units (pictured) for its towers also offers the opportunity to use local raw materials and labour.
