Nordex Group has secured a 56MW order from Umwelt Management AG (UMaAG) for a repowering project in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The Drochtersen wind farm will be upgraded with eight N163/6.X turbines, each installed on hybrid towers with hub heights of 164 metres.
Installation is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026, with full commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2027.
The deal includes a 20-year premium service contract to support long-term turbine performance.
“With the repowering project in the district of Stade, we are taking the next step towards more efficient, more powerful wind farms,” said Uwe Leonhardt, CEO of UMaAG.
Karsten Brüggemann, vice president for Central Europe at Nordex, said the project demonstrates the energy and space efficiency gains possible through repowering.
