Nordex Group has received a 156MW turbine order in Chile’s Los Lagos region.
The manufacturer will construct the wind farm with 33 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines from the Delta4000 platform. The project is expected to complete in 2021.
Nordex will also service the wind farm for a period of 15 years.
The wind farm is located 30 kilometres to the north of the Puerto Varas city.
The turbines will be installed on 145 metre tubular steel towers in order to take maximum advantage of the wind conditions prevailing there.
In December 2019 Nordex secured its first order in Chile for the N149/4.0-4.5 turbine, for the 86MW Alena wind project being developed by Mainstream Renewable Power.
Alena is also slated to enter commercial operation in early 2021. Nordex will service the 18 turbines for 15 years.
