Nordex wins 56MW German deal

Nordex has secured a 56MW order from Bürgerwindpark BHU Betriebs GmbH & Co. KG for a community wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein.

The manufacturer will deliver eight N163/6.X turbines on 118-metre tubular steel towers for the Bosbüll Holm Uphusum project spanning three villages in North Frisia, said Nordex.

The deal includes a 20-year premium service agreement to support long-term technical availability, according to the company.

Installation is scheduled to begin in early 2027 with commissioning expected by autumn that year.

Bürgerwindpark BHU Betriebs GmbH & Co. KG will operate the units in 7MW mode to maximise energy generation at the windy site.

John-Heinrich Ingwersen, managing director of Bürgerwindpark BHU, said: “After almost 15 years of planning, we have realized this three-village wind farm.”

He added: “In the future, around 400 limited partners will be involved in the Bosbüll Holm Uphusum (BHU) community wind farm.”

Karsten Brüggemann, vice president region central of the Nordex Group, said: “Community wind projects are a cornerstone of the energy transition in Germany.”

He stated: “We are pleased to support this locally anchored project with our N163/6.X turbine technology.”

Brüggemann added: “The wind farm will not only provide climate-friendly electricity but will also secure local value creation and further advance the energy transition in North Frisia together with all stakeholders.”
