Siemens has confirmed that it will supply 50 SWT 3.2MW 113 turbines to Zephyr and Norsk Vind Energi’s 160MW Tellenes wind farm in Norway.
The German company said the machines, which have a rotor diameter of 113 metres, will be erected in Rogaland south of Stavanger.
Construction will start this month, with the project expected to be fully operational in late 2017.
Siemens will also be responsible for operating and servicing the wind turbines under a long-term agreement.
Funds managed by BlackRock are providing equity financing for the project, which will supply electricity to Google’s data centres in Europe.
