Siemens is to supply 141 2.3MW 108 turbines for Pattern Energy Group’s 324MW Broadview wind project at two adjacent sites in New Mexico and Texas.
Delivery and installation is set to start this month, with the units scheduled to start coming online in the fourth quarter of 2016.
The deal also includes a long-term service and maintenance agreement, which involves Siemens’ remote monitoring and diagnostic solutions.
The New Mexico site will comprise 105 machines totalling 241MW, with the Texas section consisting of the remaining 36 units adding capacity of 83MW.
Siemens said the blades will be manufactured at its facility in Fort Madison, Iowa, while the nacelles and hubs will be assembled at the company’s Hutchinson plant in Kansas.
Siemens Financial Services is also supporting the project with a loan of almost $100m, which will support Pattern’s equity stake in the deal.
