Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has secured an order from Gas Natural Fenosa Renovables for 22 turbines totalling 64MW for two wind farms in Spain.
One deal covers the installation of 15 G126-2.625MW machines, while the second is for seven G132-3.465MW turbines, featuring 64.5-metre glass fibre blades.
Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018, while the facilities are slated for commissioning towards the end of next year.
The blades will be manufactured at the Aoiz factory in Navarra and the nacelles will be produced at the Ágreda plant in Soria in Spain, Siemens Gamesa said.
It will be the first time both models have been installed at commercial wind farms in Spain.
Two prototypes have been validated and certified at a research and development project located in the Alaiz mountain range in Navarra.
