SSE has announced that the Bhlaraidh wind farm is officially “open4business” and has issued invitations for local companies to attend a drop-in-day on Wednesday November 4 from 10am – 2pm at the Glenmoriston Millennium Hall, Invermoriston.
The event will offer information to local companies on how they can become involved in the supply chain in the construction of the wind farm.
The 32 turbine wind farm is located on the Glenmoriston Estate north-west of Invermoriston in the Great Glen and is due to start being built in Spring 2016, though enabling works have already started.
Bhlaraidh project manager Billy Jack said: “The construction of the Bhlaraidh wind farm is expected to bring a number of socio economic benefits to the Great Glen area including opportunities for local businesses and a total community benefit fund of £160,000 per annum.
“We look forward to welcoming local companies of all kinds along to the event. Representatives from SSE Renewables, SSE’s open4business team and our contractor RJ McLeod, will be on hand to answer any questions on the day. Businesses of all kinds, from accommodation suppliers to local tradesmen, are encouraged to attend.”
