French developer Akuo Energy and Eurus Energy America have commissioned their 50MW Florida 2 wind farm in Uruguay.
The facility in the Florida department, comprising 15 Vestas V117-3.3MW wind turbines, was completed in 12 months, Akuo said.
It is the second wind farm completed by the partners in the South American country and the third one opened there by the French developer.
German lender KfW IPEX-Bank provided $78.5m in project financing for the facility, which also benefits from a guarantee from Danish export credit agency EKF.
Akuo now operates 142MW of wind capacity in Uruguay and is planning another 250MW.
