Velocita Energy Developments has reached financial close on a €200m, 120MW trio of wind farms in France.
The Rouvai cluster will feature a total of 43 GE 2.78MW turbines across the Rougemant-Baume 1, Rougemant-Baume 2 and Vaite-Bussiere projects in the Doubs region.
Financing for Velocita’s second effort in France was secured from the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and ING Bank. The 31MW Monts du Lomont wind farm was built in December 2014.
Rouvai will be built in two phases with work on 35 turbines starting in January 2016 and going live in June 2017. Phase two will feature eight turbines and will be completed in June 2018.
The cluster was developed in partnership with Opale Energies Naturelles and will be operated by Velocita. Artelia will tackle civils and electrics. EDF will buy power under a 15-year feed-in tariff.
Green Giraffe, Allen & Overy, CGR Legal, Natural Power and JCRA acted for Velocita; Mott MacDonald, Linklaters, Marsh, and BDO acted for the banks.
