Vestas has secured a turbine order to supply a 38MW wind project in Scotland, UK.
The project is located in the south-west part of the country.
Deliveries of the nine V117-4.2 MW turbines are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, while commissioning is planned for the third quarter of next year.
The project name and developer are undisclosed.
The turbines will be hosted on 81.5 metre-high towers to maximise energy production from the site’s medium-to-high wind conditions, while meeting tip height requirements.
Vestas Northern and Central Europe president Nils de Baar said: “This project enables a highly competitive business case for our customer and offers the lowest cost of energy to British energy consumers.
“It marks another step forward for renewable energy in the UK.”
