Wind power is pushing down the price of electricity in southern Sweden, according to new analysis from Sweco.
The research which shows that every new terawatt hour (TWh) of wind power added between 2022 and 2025 lowers the annual average price of electricity by 0.4 öre per kWh (€0.03/kWh) in southern Sweden (SE3 and SE4).

During the time period, 20 TWh of wind power is being built and the resulting price pressure in the south will thus be a total of 8 öre per kWh.
Svensk Vindenergi, which published the analysis, said the number of wind turbines granted permits is decreasing, which could be a problem for southern Sweden, which already has a shortage of electricity production.
