German company BayWa has appointed Gordon MacDougall as managing director of its UK projects business.
The ex-RES man will have primary responsibility for the leadership and development of renewables efforts in the country, including investments.
BayWa re global co-head of wind projects Katy Hogg said: “Gordon’s experience and proven track record in the industry are second to none and we are delighted to have him on board.
“Attracting someone of Gordon’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement of our strategy and confirms our continued growth ambitions for our UK business.
MacDougall added: “We are in an excellent position to capitalise on the growth opportunities presented by falling capital costs for renewables and continued industry support to achieve a truly low carbon economy in the UK.”
BayWa has realised over 323MW of solar projects, 139MW of wind projects and a 9MW biomass project in the UK and has over 1.3GW of renewables projects under management for third parties.
