Irish renewables developer DP Energy has appointed Adam Cronin as technical and engineering manager of its Irish offshore team.
DP Energy, which is headquartered in Buttevant in north Cork, has a 1500MW portfolio of wind and solar energy projects across Ireland, Australia, the UK and Canada.
The company is also involved in tidal energy projects in Canada, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Cronin (pictured) will lead DP Energy’s technical and engineering teams in the delivery of the company’s offshore renewable development brief in Ireland.
The company has submitted foreshore site investigation licences for three offshore wind projects around the Irish coast and has partnered with Iberdrola.
Delivery of these three schemes, which could be operational between 2028 and 2030, will contribute to Ireland’s Climate Action Plan target of 70% renewable electricity by 2030.
Cronin has experience in the design, consenting and development of marine and offshore projects.
Prior to joining DP Energy he was director of the marine engineering practice at ByrneLooby.
