Elisabeth Brinton is to replace Mark Gainsborough as head of Shell’s New Energies business, which includes renewables.
Brinton, currently global vice president of strategy and portfolio at New Energies, will take on the role of executive vice president at the division from 1 April.

Gainsborough has been with Shell for over 30 years and has led the New Energies business since July 2016.
The New Energies division also includes new fuels, such as biofuels and hydrogen and storage.
A Shell spokesperson confirmed the change, which had been announced on Brinton’s Linkedin page.
Brinton said: “I would like to thank Mark Gainsborough for his guidance, support and momentous contribution throughout a distinguished career with Shell.”
