Shell’s head of renewables and energy solutions Elisabeth Brinton is leaving the company to pursue a new opportunity at an unnamed company that is not a competitor with the oil and gas giant.
She became head of renewables and energy solutions in April 2020, replacing Mark Gainsborough.
Brinton (pictured) in a social media post said: “This has been a big decision. I will miss my Shell colleagues and the incredible Shell community very much.
“I could not be prouder of the positive contribution that I, together with my teams, have made to help build Shell’s material lower-carbon power business.
“I’ve been offered a unique opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.
“I am not going to a competitor, but will continue to be a global leader advancing sustainability and commercial net-zero energy transition strategies.”
A spokesman for Shell confirmed her departure to reNEWS.
He added that the company will appoint Thomas Brostrom, currently senior vice president for renewables, as head of renewable generation, and Steve Hill, currently executive vice president for Shell Energy, head of energy marketing.
Both will report to director of integrated gas, renewables and energy solutions Wael Sawan.
