Ramboll has appointed Tim Fischer as the new director for the engineering consultancy’s global wind division.
Fischer (pictured) takes over from Klaus Jacob Jensen who, in joint management with Fischer, has led Ramboll’s wind business since 2011.
Jacob Jensen will stay and support in a transition period and will leave Ramboll in January 2023.
As part of Ramboll Energy’s executive leadership team, Fischer will be responsible for all activities in offshore and onshore wind globally and will steer the ongoing market expansion.
Ramboll’s wind division has grown at a rate of 25% organic growth per year, particularly in offshore wind.
Since joining Ramboll in 2011, Fischer established the company’s wind and energy services in the German market, taking over the global offshore wind business in 2019.
Benefiting from Ramboll’s world-class expertise in foundation design, he expanded the scope of the business to a full-range consultancy, including project development and advisory, floating wind, wind and site and asset management services.
Ramboll employs over 500 dedicated wind energy experts across 25 offices in 15 countries globally.
Fischer said: “I am honoured to take on this new role and lead a great team with exceptional expertise and passion.
“We are united in our objective to continuously develop solutions for one of the most critical challenges of our time: tackling global climate change by enabling the green energy transition worldwide.
“The demand for green energy solutions is consistently increasing – now more than ever given the recent geopolitical developments. 10 years ago, installation targets as we discuss today, would have been impossible to accomplish. I am proud to be part of that journey and shape the industry.”
Ramboll Energy managing director Hannes Reuter added: “Wind is a key pillar in our ambition to become the global leader in the energy transition in our industry, Tim’s strong experience, leadership skills and passion for the wind sector will be pivotal to further expanding our global Wind business.”
