Arina Freitag has been appointed as the new chief financial officer (CFO) of Dutch-German grid operator TenneT.
Freitag (pictured) replaces Otto Jager, who left the company at the end of 2021.
Freitag was previously managing director of Flughafen Stuttgart (Stuttgart Airport).
“I am taking on this role of Chief Financial Officer at a particularly exciting time,” she said.
“This decade will require record investments in the energy transition in Germany, the Netherlands and Europe.
“This is the only way to achieve the ambitious goals and timetables on the path to climate neutrality.”
She added: “TenneT, as a transmission system operator that connects the gigantic offshore potential of the North Sea with the industrial centres, will play a central role in the climate turnaround.
“I look forward to contributing my experience in the infrastructure sector and in dealing with strengthening political and social framework conditions to drive the energy transition.”
Tennet CEO Manon van Beek added: “With Arina Freitag, a proven expert in infrastructure financing comes on board at TenneT.
“She has more than twenty years of professional experience in finance and has gained extensive expertise in supervisory boards of large German infrastructure companies, where regulatory aspects and the political environment play a very important role.
“We are very much looking forward to working with her.”
